WHAT, RAY WORRY?

Everybody has to start somewhere, and Everybody Loves Raymond began six squabbling seasons ago, with Ray Romano — necktie and all — bumbling through breakfast with Debra and the kids.
"Hey, wait," Romano says, pausing the tape of Raymond's very first episode during a recent interview in his office at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. "Those aren't our twins. They don't even look alike!" The original twins weren't the only early casualties: Ray's "best friend," Leo (played by Stephen Lee), also would never be seen again. "And look how Debra's all over me," Romano says, as he and costar Patricia Heaton snuggle for the third time in that one episode. "That's the most action I got in six years!"
